Greetings, I'm typing this all users email to announce Beamsville Minor Baseball is selecting it's rep coaches for the 2026 season! Please read this email for information related to what teams we will offer and our Try out dates:
WHAT TEAMS ARE WE OFFERING?:
Please review this list to see if the team you are interested in is being offered. If you don't see the team but want to coach an additional age group. Please follow up with an email to zachary.decker@yahoo.com with the subject line "Proposed Rep Team XX". BMBA typically only offers 1 team for 2 age groups but has offered minor programs on many occasions and aspires to offer more groups if coaches and players create a situation where the program makes sense.
TEAMS:
U9 REP (Players born in 2017 and 2018) - Pitching machine baseball
U11 REP (Players born in 2015 and 2016)
U13 REP (Players born in 2013 and 2014)
U15 REP (Players born in 2011 and 2012)
U18 REP (Players born in 2008, 2009 and 2010) - We did not offer this team in 2025. If coaches and players allow the program BMBA will make diamond time, and league play available
WHAT DO I NEED TO COACH?
Ontario Baseball Association mandates that all coaches at the Rep level take certification available online and in person. The courses and requirements can be found at playoba.ca and coaches.ca. BMBA reimburses all course financial commitments.
HOW DO I APPLY?
Submit a 1 page resume including the following to zachary.decker@yahoo.com;
What team you would like to coach;
Do you have an athlete that will be trying out for the team?
What level of baseball have you previously coached or been involved with?
What level of baseball did you play?
Would you be willing to fulfill all coaches certification requirements and what certification do you currently have?
MINOR PROGRAMS ( Players with birthyear 2018, 2016, 2014, 2012 and potentially 2010):
BMBA aspires to have teams available at every age group however the level of players available needs to be high enough to make the program effective and enjoyable for the athletes. This will be determined through an interview with a potential coach who knows they have athletes or during the try out selection process if minor players abilities and commitment justify the program.
COACHES SELCTION TIMELINE:
The coaches application deadline will be Friday, August 8. Coaches interviews will take place by Monday, August 18. Selections will be made by August 18 subject to any variance that BMBA board believes is reasonable.
TRY OUT SCHEDULE:
Try outs for BMBA 2026 Rep teams will begin Tuesday, September 2 and conclude by September 12. The dates will be chosen subject to coaches availability. All minor try outs will coincide with major offerings.
COST OF PLAYING REP:
Rep players with BMBA pay the standard registration fee and a rep fee which is subject to the tournaments and player development program. Rep fees will not exceed $400 and many programs effectively fundraise to cancel a large portion of the rep fee.
WHY BMBA REP?:
BMBA has upgraded our facilities in 2025 including turf in both our batting cages and a facility expansion to include DSBN property at Senator Gibson. We are actively seeking additional facility improvements for 2026 with updates to come. As an association we have had Provincial Championships won at every age group we offer from U9 to Senior OBA.
