Rally Cap Info for 2024 Season

About Rally Cap

BMBA is pleased once again to run Rally Cap for 2024. The Rally Cap program is Baseball Canada's initiative that is gaining momentum across Canada.  Some provinces have even mandated the program outright.  It is a highly structured program that emphasizes learning the fundamental skills of the game all while having as much fun as possible.  Like all our other divisions, the success of Rally Cap will be highly dependent on the volunteers who support it, so please consider coaching or helping your child’s team this year.  To read more on the program, please refer to the Baseball Canada website http://www.baseball.ca/rally-cap-initiation-program

Rally Cap Jr. (2019-2020 birth years)

Rally Cap Jr. will be a modified version of the Rally Cap program for our youngest division. Coaches will follow structured step by step drills that will enhance the fundamental skills of throwing, catching, hitting and running in a positive environment that emphasizes fun.

For the 2024 season, Rally Cap Jr. will run Mondays at Lions Park in Beamsville from 5:45 -6:45pm.  Due to the young age of the players, please expect to help out the team in some form, even if only corralling kids on the field during drills.

Rally Cap Sr. (2017-2018 birth years)

In Rally Cap Sr., like the Jr. division, coaches will follow structured step by step drills to build the fundamental skills of throwing, catching, hitting and running. The last half hour will see game action where players will either hit off a tee or see underhanded coach pitching.  Later in the season, at the coach's discretion, the pitching machines used in Rookie Ball may be used.

More Info:

For the 2024 season, Rally Cap Sr. will run Tuesdays at Lions Park in Beamsville from 5:45 -6:45pm.

We anticipate starting the season Monday June 3 for Rally Cap Jr. and Tuesday June 4 for Rally Cap Sr.  Come to Lions 2 (the gravel diamond with lights nearest the parking lot) for the first day.  Each week we will use both Diamond 2 and  3 (far back).

For both divisions, players will receive a shirt and hat.  The league will provide bats, balls, tees etc.

You can dress your player however you like otherwise, eg. jogging pants, shorts (when it gets hotter), or even baseball pants if you like.  Running shoes will be fine, no need to purchase cleats at this age unless you prefer.

Also, please make sure to have a ball glove and batting helmet for your player.
