UNIFORMS

Local league registration fees includes a hat and shirt.  Pants are not supplied, however, we encourage everyone to purchase their own grey pants.  Most regional sports stores will carry these pants.

BATS - LOCAL LEAGUE

* NEW Since 2022

For 13U and younger, there are no changes, i.e. there are no specific rules for bats allowed.

For 15U - maximum "drop 5" allowed.

A bat's drop is the measurement determined by subtracting the weight of the bat from its length. For example, a bat that weighs 25 ounces and is 30 inches long will have a drop of -5. The greater the drop weight, the lighter the bat.

For 18U - wood bats only allowed this year.

Schedule Info

Beamsville Local League plays in the Niagara Interlock. We play under the general guidelines of Baseball Ontario, however Niagara District uses some slightly different playing rules.  Other towns typically in our interlock include Grimsby, St. Catharines, Pelham, Fort Erie, Port Colborne, Thorold, Welland, St. Catharines (Bantam + older) and Niagara Falls (Bantam + older).

A typical week will have 2 games during the week and one practice on the weekend.  Some divisions may play weekend away games, but this depends on the diamond schedule submitted by other towns.  Beamsville will not schedule any home games on weekends. The season typically starts the week after Victoria Day and ends 2nd or 3rd week of August.

Please note, the particular interlock with other towns is not decided until all centres have identified the number of teams they will field per division and a general meeting is held with all towns to create the divisional interlocks..  This makes it impossible to say for sure what other towns you may travel to and also which days. Even when the final Interlock schedule is released in early May, the days of the week will not be consistent week to week. If you are signing your child up for other summer activities during the week, please take this into consideration.

Register Early

Please be aware, the last 5 seasons we were at full capacity in every division.  This season we are expecting the same so please register early to avoid being turned away or put on a waiting list.

If you have any issues with the online forms, or any other questions or concerns, please use the site’s contact link or email dsrickard44@gmail.com

Players will be evaluated prior to the start of the season and teams will be made accordingly.  Players may play up one division but availability may depend on the needs of the teams in each division as well as the skill level of the player.  Player safety is our first concern when it comes to younger kids playing with older kids that could be 2-3 years older.

We cannot guarantee special requests for children to play together, however we will try our best to accommodate.

And please consider being a coach or assistant this season, the success of our teams and the association as a whole depends on our volunteers!  Please don’t worry if you have little or no baseball experience, the league will support you with training and materials.
